ABOUT TRADE – Fitter trade under CTS is one of the most popular courses delivered nationwide through network of ITIs. The course is of two years duration. After passing out of the training programme, the trainee is awarded National Trade Certificate (NTC) by NCVT which is recognized worldwide.

ELEGIBILITY – 10th Pass (science and mathematics subjects are mandatory in class 10th from recognize board.)

DURATION – 2 Years

COURSE STRUCTURE – During the course the trainee taught about things like fitting and assembling structural framework and housing for material like angle iron , I beams and plate steel, using hand tools and welding equipment and following blueprint specifications: examines blueprints and materials list to obtain parts specifications, etc. The trade is very good from job point of view as it opens many options for self-employment on one hand and further studies options on other hand.

CAREER PROGRESSION PATHWAYS

• Can apply for any government as well as private vacancies in relevant area.
• Can appear in 10+2 examination through National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for acquiring higher secondary certificate and can go further for General/ Technical education.
• Can take admission in diploma course in notified branches of Engineering by lateral entry.
• Can join Apprenticeship programme in different types of industries leading to National Apprenticeship certificate (NAC).
• Can join Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) in the trade for becoming instructor in ITIs.
